These students were involved in a competition to design a card. Lucy Crolla (front right) behind her Jackie Payne, behind her Tracey Harding and lastly boy at back in Fred Perry jumper is Jeff Armstrong.
Comment from Tom Slade (22/03/09) "Me tom slade is the lad in jumper on the wall the guy in white shirt is lawrance greenall the girl in strips is Phillipa jones, behind her is julie houseman (?) the girl nexet to jeff is wendy brace .
We were all six formers at king harold school and had been making a booklet for newcomers to waltham abbey ( this was at the time of the big ninefields build ) what we are holding is my artwork for the cover The photo was taken to publisize the publishing of the booklet". |

Top left with the tie is Tom Slade, artist extraordinaire. In the middle with a big smile and curly hair is Wendy Brace. Front left in the stripes is (I think) Philippa Jones. The kid with the Union Jack might be David Elliott, but I\'m not sure, with Jeff Armstrong behind him? Lastly, top right is me aged 17. Tom\'s drawing looks like the medieval bridge in the Abbey Gardens, but I can\'t remember if it was or not.
Note the lack of uniforms - us sixth formers spent most of each day collectively failing to finish the Groiniad crossword. Ah, the good ol\' days! |
